Overview
Situated on the shores of Lake Kariba, Changa Safari Camp’s eight lavish tents seamlessly blend with their wild surroundings. Notably, each tent offers breathtaking views of the expansive water and the unfolding Matusadona mountains, creating a truly immersive safari adventure.
Nestled among the sheltering Mopane trees, the inviting swimming pool overlooks the lake. Consequently, it provides an excellent spot for a poolside cocktail or a refreshing midday dip.
Meanwhile, the open-air lounge area features luxurious furnishings, including leather chairs and sofas. Sheltered by a thatched roof, it is further enhanced by bursts of color from individually crafted mosaic tiles. As a result, this delightful space invites you to unwind alone, soaking in the picturesque scenery, or mingle with fellow guests and exchange tales of the day’s adventures. In addition, Wi-Fi and a centralized charging station are available here. At the same time, our splendid new spa has quickly gained popularity, offering indulgent massages, manicures, and pedicures.
Accommodation
We offer six standard tents, each accommodating two people. Additionally, Changa Safari Camp Zimbabwe features two sets of interconnected family tents. This thoughtful design allows children to move freely between their tent and their parents’ space, ensuring both safety and privacy. Each tent, crafted from traditional safari olive canvas, is fully screened to keep mosquitoes at bay. Consequently, you can sleep peacefully with a gentle breeze and the distant echoes of the wilderness. Notably, each tent is uniquely adorned with an East African influence.
Cuisine
The cuisine at Changa Safari Camp will undoubtedly be a highlight of your stay. By using only the freshest ingredients, every dish’s flavor and presentation will leave you eager for the next meal. Breakfast and lunch are served al fresco on the main elevated deck. Guests can either dine under the shaded open-air dining room or beneath the sprawling Zig-zag Terminalia tree overlooking the private beach.
Later in the afternoon, guests can enjoy a delightful tea service, which includes a variety of teas, local coffee, and sweet treats. As evening approaches, a candlelit dinner accompanied by rhythmic drumbeats awaits at 7:30 PM. To make the experience even more memorable, the dinner location changes each evening.
Activities
In the early mornings, guests have the perfect opportunity for a guided stroll, revealing nature’s intricate details. Alternatively, a game drive allows you to venture farther afield. This often leads to the flood plain and the crimson sandy coastline, where the local lion pride is frequently spotted.
