Overview
Lining the banks of the famous Grumeti River, home to pods of grunting and wallowing hippos, the Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp perfectly encapsulates the luxury camp experience. Overlooking a kopje and sweeping plains across the river, the camp’s main areas offer expansive views and captivating Serengeti sunsets. Guests can enjoy an open-plan lounge, a dining room with a large balcony, and a sunset viewing platform with campfire. Delicious meals and satisfying drinks are accompanied by stunning scenery. A large swimming pool invites guests for a refreshing swim during the heat of the day.
Situated along the path of the annual Great Migration, guests visiting from April through June and late October to December witness landscapes dotted with wildebeest from horizon to horizon. Activities include shared game drives in custom 4×4 vehicles, bush meals, sundowners, guided bush walks, and swimming.
Accommodations
Migration Camp tents prioritize guest comfort. Each tent features an en-suite shower room with a flushing toilet, shower, and twin vanity basin. Hot (solar-generated) and cold running water is available 24 hours a day. The tents include luxuriant furnishings, a writing desk, stationery, and a fan. Guests enjoy the combination of wooden floors, fixed bathroom walls, and canvas surroundings.
Location
Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp sits in a secluded area of north-central Serengeti, directly along the great migration route. From April to August and November through December, guests experience a “private migration.” Hundreds of thousands of wildebeest dot the landscape.
Mara River Crossing
Game package guests can enjoy a one-hour game drive from the camp to the Mara River. This location is famous for frenetic migration river crossings. After experiencing the excitement, guests return to their private haven.
Wildlife
Serengeti Migration Camp offers exceptional game viewing. Guests have the chance to see the Big Five and a variety of other wildlife. Bird enthusiasts can spot over 500 bird species. This part of the Serengeti guarantees fantastic game viewing throughout the year.
