For over 120 years, members and visitors have relished playing golf beneath the iconic Table Mountain at Rondebosch Golf Club.

Today, the course is a parkland design, featuring tree-lined fairways, compact greens, over 40 bunkers, and two rivers—the Black River and Vygekraal River—that wind through the lower half of the course, once the site of a dairy farm. It stands as one of the premier courses in the Cape Metropolitan area, maintained in pristine condition. It has long hosted numerous international, national, and provincial tournaments at both professional and amateur levels. The fairways and tees are predominantly kikuyu grass, while the greens are poa annua.

Originally designed by the renowned golf course architect Bob Grimsdell, the course has seen modifications over the years due to road development in the Cape Peninsula and the widening of rivers for flood control. Despite these changes, it retains the essence of Grimsdell’s vision, offering a challenging yet accessible layout stretching over 6000 meters from the tips.

The clubhouse is welcoming and well-equipped, featuring extensive food and beverage services, a modern, well-stocked golf shop, and Wi-Fi access. Its charming and unique veranda overlooks a superb practice putting green, with distant views of the Cape’s majestic Hottentots Holland mountain range. Ample parking is available.

Centrally located, the club is highly accessible, just minutes from the City center, the southern suburbs of the Peninsula, and close to the international airport.

Historically, the club was not always situated in its current parkland setting; for 25 years after its establishment in 1911, it was located on what is now the famous fynbos reserve, the Rondebosch Common. The club, course, and clubhouse moved to the current site in 1937.
