6 Nights Tanzania & Rwanda
The moment our plane landed at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania, a wave of excitement washed over us, especially with the warm welcome from our safari team. They handed us refreshing, lemongrass-scented towels—a simple yet perfect way to ease the journey’s fatigue. Right from the beginning, this thoughtful gesture hinted at the extraordinary Rwanda Safari Holiday adventure ahead, blending seamless planning with the heartfelt hospitality of the African plains and Rwanda’s misty gorilla havens.
To begin our journey, we headed to either Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp (June to October) or Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp (January to May, November to December). This was reached via a 1-hour charter flight to Lobo Airstrip and a scenic game drive transfer. Soon after arrival, the all-inclusive stay in a luxurious Double Tent enveloped us in comfort, with meals, local drinks, and laundry effortlessly included. For example, shared day game drives revealed thundering herds of wildebeest. In addition, guided bush walks and sundowners under a fiery Serengeti sky captivated us. Therefore, our three nights in the Serengeti sparked a deep love for its wild expanse and was a perfect prelude to our Rwanda Safari Holiday.
Transition to Rwanda: Cultural and Natural Immersion
Next, on day four, we flew 1.5 hours from Lobo Airstrip to Kigali International Airport, followed by a smooth road transfer to Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge in Volcanoes National Park, complete with snacks en route. Once there, the all-inclusive Double Suite felt like a sanctuary, with every need—meals, drinks, and laundry—effortlessly provided. Moreover, a half-day Kigali city tour, including lunch, immersed us in Rwanda’s vibrant culture. However, the next two days were the heart of our Rwanda Safari Holiday: one gorilla trekking experience and one golden monkey trek, each unforgettable in its own way.
Specifically, the gorilla trek (for ages 15+) began at 7:00 AM with a required 6:40 AM arrival at the park office. Undeniably, this moment was nothing short of transformative for our Rwanda Safari Holiday experience. Meanwhile, the golden monkey trek filled the forest with their playful chatter, a lighter but equally magical contrast. As a result, our time at Sabyinyo deepened our connection to Rwanda’s soul.
Bittersweet Farewell: Lasting Memories
Finally, on our last morning, we savored breakfast with panoramic views of misty volcanoes, reluctantly preparing to say goodbye. A road transfer to Kigali International Airport, where our guide ensured a seamless departure, brought our Rwanda Safari Holiday to a close. In the end, this wasn’t just a trip—it reshaped us. The Serengeti’s endless plains, the intimate gorilla encounters, and Rwanda’s warm spirit left us with memories that will forever linger. Now, we dream of returning to this magical land, eager for another Rwanda Safari Holiday.
